Objectivism is a system, not a stack. That means its parts are not just ordered — they are structurally interlocked. And like any system built under load, damage does not stay where it starts.
This sidebar maps several key interdependencies across the five major branches. These are not academic connections — they are failure paths. If one link fails, force redistributes. Often, it breaks what is above it.
Epistemology → Ethics. If volitional reason is denied, then objective moral judgment collapses. Without a valid means of knowing, no "ought" can be justified. The result: ethics becomes emotionalism, intuitionism, or conformity.
Ethics → Politics. If the individual is not morally sovereign, then rights have no anchor. Altruism leads to sacrifice; pragmatism to manipulation. The result: rights become negotiable. Liberty becomes license.
Metaphysics → Epistemology. If existence is subjective or identity is fluid, reason loses traction. Logic cannot apply to contradictions. The result: thought unmoors from reality. Knowledge becomes narrative.
Politics → Aesthetics. When justice is undermined in society, art reflects distortion. Heroism withers. Cynicism becomes the norm. The result: art shifts from elevation to erosion.
Epistemology → Aesthetics. If concepts are unstable or reason is denied, value itself becomes unspecifiable. The result: art cannot project ideals — only moods or chaos.
In a modular philosophy, these breaks would be survivable. In Objectivism, they are structural. That is why every interlock matters — and why any evolution of the system must preserve these joints. Failure propagation is not a metaphor. It is a design warning.
