How to Use This Guide

Arc 2 layers Open Objectivism's method disciplines onto the Traditional Objectivism foundation you built in Arc 1. The arc contains eight content units organized across four levels, plus this introduction. Each unit ships concrete tools you can use immediately — but now the tools correct, revise, and cooperate, where Arc 1's tools decided, committed, and audited.

This guide maps the full sequence. Use it to see where you are going, to track your progress, and to understand how each unit's tools connect to the ones before and after it. The arc assumes sequential reading — each level builds on the previous one — but the guide lets you see the whole architecture before you begin.

The Arc at a Glance

Table 2.2.0-1 — Arc 2 Unit Map

Level Unit Title Core Move Tools Shipped
Individual (2.2.1) Fallibilism as Self-Correction Install correction before you need it: externalize beliefs, track revisions, review weekly Assumptions register, weekly review, "I Changed My Mind Because…" log
(2.2.2) Benevolence as Default Posture Extend good faith as epistemic method: steelman before you judge, debias before you conclude Steelman habit, debias checklist
Team (2.2.3) Disagreement as Data Turn team conflict into an upgrade path: require dissent, record what changed Steelman-first protocol, error-friendly retro, update ledger
(2.2.4) Method Over Canon in Team Practice Install revision mechanisms so norms serve their purpose, not their history Practice audit, revision protocol
Organization (2.2.5) Institutional Fallibilism Embed revision into governance architecture: sunset, experiment, learn Sunset schedule, policy experimentation
(2.2.6) Protected Dissent and Public Reason Make dissent safe and decisions accountable: channels, protections, written rationale Reasoned decision template, dissent health metric
Enterprise (2.2.7) Pluralism with Standards Coherence through shared method, not shared identity: legible disagreement, testable claims, clear exit Interoperability principle, standard governance health check
(2.2.8) Adaptive Governance Build governance that treats revision as health: open deliberation, dissent as system input, revision at scale Adaptive governance assessment

The Progression Logic

The arc scales one principle — OO's method discipline — through four levels of coordination:

Individual teaches you to correct yourself: your beliefs, your assumptions, your default posture toward others. If self-correction does not work here, it cannot work anywhere.

Team teaches you to correct together: turning disagreement into data and subjecting team norms to the same evidence standard the individual applies to beliefs. The team that cannot revise its own practices is the team that will eventually be revised by its failures.

Organization teaches you to build correction into governance: institutions large enough that personal relationships cannot carry the revision work. Sunset clauses replace permanent policy. Protected dissent replaces cultural aspiration. Public reason replaces positional authority.

Enterprise teaches you to maintain correction across diversity: networks of organizations with different cultures, priorities, and values cooperating through shared method rather than shared belief. Pluralism with standards provides the static architecture. Adaptive governance provides the dynamic one.

Each level adds complexity without abandoning the foundation. The self-correction discipline you practice as an individual is the same discipline you audit at the enterprise level — the scale changes, the method does not.

What This Arc Does Not Cover

Arc 2 teaches method. It does not teach structural architecture — how to encode moral constraints into systems that operate faster than individual review, how to design cooperation that holds when power concentrates at chokepoints, or how to build institutions that carry virtue across time without depending on the virtue of every individual within them. That is Arc 3, which applies Resilient Objectivism's nine design patterns as operational tools.

The sequence is deliberate: character before method before structure. What follows depends on what you build here.

Change Log
  • 27 Aug 26 — Corrected "ten innovations" to "nine design patterns," reflecting the resilience tenet's fold into epistemic integrity.
  • 18 Mar 26 — Initial publication. Structural Map sidebar added to give readers a navigable overview of Arc 2's full unit sequence, tools, and progression logic — modeled on the (2.1.0-1) Arc 1 Study Guide.
